Vijfentwintig minuten aan prachtig vormgegeven verhaal, over de Poolse Eryk Kaminski die samen met zijn vader Dobry in Nederland woont. Eryk speelt het allerliefst het spel Gold Hunter, maar Dobry vindt het veel belangrijker dat hij eerst leert zwemmen!
Naar een scenario van Pepijn Moors, Christa de Graaf en Camiel Schouwenaar, die ook de regie voerde. Happy Ship heeft de film gestoryboard en opgezet, en de wereld en de karakters gebouwd (naar ontwerp van Jan van Lierde). Ook de vormgeving en animatie van de game-wereld in het verhaal is van onze hand. Samen met animatiestudio Big Pixel is de animatie en rendering van de hele film vervolgens gerealiseerd en afgemaakt.
Op 29 September 2017 won de film het Gouden Kalf voor de Beste Korte Film op het Nederlands Film Festival. De Oscar van de lage landen! Zo trots!
Daarmee zijn we er nog niet, de prijzenregen ging gewoon door want Polska won ook het Holland Animation Film Festival (Beste Korte Nederlandse Animatie), de Prix Jeunesse UNESCO 2018 (Special Prize), FICCI Frames Mumbai (Beste Professionele Korte Animatie Film) en geen 1 maar 2 Cinekid Awards nl. Beste Korte Nederlandse Animatie en de Jeugd Publieks Prijs! JEUHH! 🙂
Twenty-five minutes of beautifully designed story about the Polish Eryk Kaminski who lives in the Netherlands with his father Dobry. Eryk prefers to play Gold Hunter, but Dobry thinks it is much more important that he learns how to swim first!
Based on a screenplay by Pepijn Moors, Christa de Graaf and Camiel Schouwenaar , who also directed. Happy Ship has styled the film and set it up, and built the world and the characters (after design by Jan van Lierde ). The design and animation of the game world in the story is also from our hand. Together with animation studio Big Pixel , the animation and rendering of the entire film was then realized and completed.
On September 29, 2017, the film won the Golden Calf for the Best Short Film at the Dutch Film Festival . The Oscar of the low countries! So proud!
We are not there yet, the prize rain simply went on because Polska also won the Holland Animation Film Festival (Best Short Dutch Animation), the Prix Jeunesse UNESCO 2018 (Special Prize), FICCI Frames Mumbai (Best Professional Short Animation Film) and none 1 but 2 Cinekid Awards nl. Best Short Dutch Animation and the Youth Audience Award!
