Project: BOOM, virtueel boomknuffelen

Een onderzoeksproject van Happy Ship, Chantalla Pleiter & Sander Bos, in samenwerking met dr. Roos Pals en Harry Hummel van GRNN. We onderzochten in hoeverre de tastzin bijdroeg aan het gevoel écht voor een VR-representatie van een boom te zitten. De representaties liepen van potlood-tekening naar schilderij, fotografisch, filmopnames, volledig computergestuurd, enzovoorts.

A research project by Happy Ship, Chantalla Pleiter & Sander Bos, in collaboration with Dr. Roos Pals and Harry Hummel from GRNN. We investigated to what extent the sense of touch contributed to the feeling of actually being in front of a VR representation of a tree. The representations ranged from pencil drawing to painting, photographic, film recording, fully computer-controlled, and so on.
